Faye Holland, disruptHR lead blogger interviews Thibaud Martin, CEO at Jubiwee to find out more about how asking the right questions at the right time can help HR make the right decisions.

FAYE: Hi Thibaud, why don’t you give me the quick elevator pitch on Jubiwee

THIBAUD: Jubiwee empowers companies by providing them with clear, actionable feedback about what their employees are expecting, and where they are dissatisfied. We’re focused on boosting satisfaction in the workplace, and therefore positively impacting engagement, performance and employee turnover.

We do so by replacing the long, boring, often irrelevant “annual survey” that many companies undertake, and replace it with shorter, much more engaging surveys that occur more often throughout the year. These are customized based on the respondent’s profile and previous answers.

The employer then has access to an online dashboard where they can find real-time feedback on all topics of employee satisfaction (from management to workplace environment). The information can be split to deep dive on a specific profile.

Our conviction: one-size-fits-all HR policies don’t work. We believe HR budgets can be spent in a smarter, more precise way, for optimal ROI and “feel-good” impact on employees.

FAYE: Why did you decide to take part in disruptHR this year and what would you like to achieve as a result of your participation?

THIBAUD: I’d say the first reason is the crowd that we expect to see there. We’re just launching a great product, and it’s an amazing opportunity to put it out there for HR professionals to try and enjoy. We’d obviously love to win the start-up pitch competition, but the main takeaway will probably be to meet people that are as enthusiastic as we are about the future of work and HR specifically.

FAYE: You are just entering a market that has boomed in the last 18 months. How do you intend to differentiate yourself in the market?

THIBAUD: The market is getting crowded, and I think it’s actually our main strength. Unlike our competitors, we have spent a lot of time and resources in making our product as simple and actionable as possible for HR professionals. I’ve worked in Big Data for years, and I know for a fact that things often get complicated, therefore useless.

We’ve made our product incredibly easy to use and clear so that it brings tangible value to our clients. Also, a lot of our competitors tend to focus on the data collection. We think the real value lies in the “action” rather than the “collection”. That’s why we provide actual recommendations all along the way that comes directly from the employees, who get to vote on what they really want to see happen.

FAYE: What makes your product unique?

THIBAUD: We bring HR KPIs. We help them have a major impact on strategic aspects of the business. We allow them to put real dollar amounts to their initiatives.

FAYE: You have 5 pilots and 3 paying customers at the moment so can you tell me how you are finding your solution?

THIBAUD: It is a SaaS company, so there’s little to no implementation required. We’re priding ourselves on being a “plug and play” service. The objective isn’t to add up to the workload of our customers, but rather to make it lighter.

As for how it works: like a charm! Again, we’re aiming to save time to our clients, so we’re sending them our analysis and clear feedback every month on top of the dashboard that they have.

FAYE: What’s your idea of innovation?

THIBAUD: Innovation has to be disruptive, in essence.

We think it’s time to disrupt the way companies run their HR initiatives. Employees have very different expectations now than a few years ago, but HR policies haven’t aligned yet. Companies need to be quick to adapt and segment their HR plans to the different wants and needs of their co-workers. You can’t do that through a one-size-fits-all action plan.

Innovation also needs to make life easier. Crushing data for data’s sake is pointless.

I think Jubiwee is very innovative, because we’re helping companies become more agile, but it doesn’t require specific resources to do so: same people, same budget, different perspective.
