Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca was at the center of the world’s attention during the race to find a vaccine for the COVID-19 virus. During that time, the talent team was faced with the challenge of quickly identifying, engaging with, and hiring an entirely new vaccine team, at a time where most of their competitors were doing the exact same thing.

UNLEASH and our partners at Beamery have invited Klaudia Żywczyk, HR Product Owner at AstraZeneca, to tell us how their talent acquisition team managed to form, in a matter of weeks, the pharma pioneers that would later successfully roll out the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to the rest of the world, in under a year.

Klaudia is the HR product owner of all Workday products across AstraZeneca, and expert talent technology and process strategist. In her current role, she oversees a large part of the operational needs of the talent and HR organizations. Throughout her career at AstraZeneca, and earlier at Korn Ferry, she rolled out a number of technology and process implementations, continuous improvement and operations strategy plans, and other talent transformation projects.
