Unleash Your Potential HR tech giant ServiceNow is betting on future of hybrid work with acquisition of Mapwize to help employees reserve flexible office space

  • HR tech for hybrid work is trending worldwide as employers plan for return to offices.
  • ServiceNow’s acquisition will allow team to reserve flexible office space as part of their plans.
  • Mapwize will be integrated into existing platforms and help update new floor maps for changing needs.

ServiceNow is acquiring Mapwize, an indoor mapping startup that helps employees reserve office space during hybrid work.

In another sign that the HR tech giant is betting on a long-term future of hybrid work, the plan is for Mapwize, based in Lille, France, to be built into ServiceNow’s NOW platform and Workplace Delivery suite.

Together they will be able to provide indoor mapping and wayfinding capabilities that create consumer-grade experiences for employees as they reserve seats, conference rooms, workspaces and workplace resources, as well as navigate offices, from their desktop or mobile devices. Mapwize will also help workplace teams manage and update floor maps based on usage trends and evolving real-estate needs.

Mapwize is already being used in many different industries, such as education, retail, transportation, hospitality, events and health case and they already work with Tableau and Microsoft, including Microsoft Teams. Post-pandemic its possibilities in HR tech are endless.

With ServiceNow, Mapwize capabilities will also help workplace teams manage and update floor maps based on usage trends and evolving real-estate needs.

“In the new world of hybrid work, the role of workplace services has never been more critical in creating great employee experiences,”

said Blake McConnell, SVP of Employee Workflows at ServiceNow.

“With Mapwize, ServiceNow will power the future of employee experiences by making it easier for people to navigate their work environment and access the workspace information and workplace services they need to remain productive,” McConnell added.

This acquisition comes as ServiceNow continues to innovate to help HR leaders and organizations operate in new and faster ways with technology. With Mapwize they aim to help remove the stress of navigating the workplace as organizations embrace flexible and agile ways of working.

ServiceNow is moving fast with their acquisitions as the world of work hurtles into a new era. Last week the HR tech giant acquired Swarm64, a database acceleration company based in Berlin, Germany.

“ServiceNow is the global leader in driving beautiful employee experiences,” said Médéric Morel, CEO and co-founder of Mapwize. “We are thrilled to join them in their mission to make the world of work, work better for everyone. With ServiceNow, we have the unique opportunity to scale our technology to help global organizations navigate hybrid work environments.

“Our technology, paired with the Now Platform and Workplace Service Delivery Suite, will remove the stress and time of navigating the workplace, allowing employees to stay agile and efficient in any environment, on any device.”

Mapwize was founded in 2014 by CEO Médéric Morel and CTO Mathieu Gerard and is based in Lille, France. ServiceNow expects to complete the acquisition of Mapwize in Q3 2021. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
